Universal Login ~ Do You Need It?
Do you often have
difficulty navigating from one MyFamily site to another? Perhaps you often
receive a page error informing you that, "You have tried to access a page that you do not have authorization for." Maybe you have tried to access many of the helpful lesson links on our front page banner or other areas of the sites, only to be disappointed because you receive one of these page errors.
More than likely the problem you may be experiencing is due to the fact that you do not have universal login of our three Admin Family Sites. When you joined our member of sites (Front Room, Den & Archive,) you may have received three separate invitations ... three Usernames, and three Passwords. This will allow you to login separately to each site, however many of the links will not work. This is due to the fact that many of the links would take you directly to the Archive where the material is stored. Without having these three Admin Family sites universally linked by you, they will not work properly.
It is easy to use the universal login:
1. Go to the front page of the site and scroll down to the "Utlities" box.
2. Click the link for "Universal login."
3. Follow the directions for keeping the Username you *wish* to use, and entering the other Usernames for the sites you want to merge.
You'll need to know all the Usernames of the sites you want to merge beforehand. If in doubt, you can click this link which will take you to the page in the MyFamily "Help" section where you will be able to request an email containing your Usernames for every site you are a member of. You can find this "Help" link at the top right of every page on the sites.
After successfully merging your sites, you will now see a dropdown box on the upper left of each page showing every site you have linked and merged. It will now be effortless to click each site you wish to jump to, and you should be free of most page errors and the inability to travel the sites through the links.
Good luck ... and smooth sailing on the sites!
