Site Guidelines
1) We do not allow obscene, harassing, racist, or sexually explicit, defamatory, violent, hateful, or insulting language.
2) NO solicitations or advertisements, including no spam, chain letters, pyramid schemes, junk mail, or any unsolicited or unauthorized promotional material. NO HARVESTING OF E MAIL ADDRESSES OR NAMES from the site, this is considered spamming.
3) Read our copyright policy in the Archive prior to posting or using
graphics or content from our sites..
4) Do not discuss, encourage, or take part in illegal activity.
5) Respect the privacy of individuals.
6) Please use good manners. We promote a healthy and interested exchange of opinions, under the understanding that these opinions will be expressed respectfully. Our sites are all in English, so please only post in English.
7) We encourage you to participate, but please remember that you are responsible for your postings, so we suggest that you protect your privacy by not ever giving out your password, telephone number, address, etc. Always remember that any personal information you reveal can be obtained and used by others, and made public.
8) Please do not post items that are of a political nature or that are highly controversial. Any posts about military actions or relatives in the military should be posted in the Freedom Forum. There is a link to the Forum in the front page banners in The Den and The Front Room.
9) Posts of a Religious nature are not allowed on the main sites**. They can be posted in the Chapel in the Front Room. There is a link, to the Chapel, in the front page banners in both The Den, and The Front Room.
**Posts for Religious Holidays can be posted in the main sites but only for a few weeks
preceding the date of the Holiday. We encourage members of different faiths to post their holiday greetings in The Den History Section and banners in the Front Room in Reviews or the Banner Parlor. After all holidays are over the posts will be moved to The Archive.
10) No cross posting. The Admin Site consists of 5 separate sites, The Front Room, The Den, Photo Magic, Genealogy Admins, and The Archive, a read only site. When you post something to one site you should consider it posted to all. This includes photos. Cross posted items will be deleted from all but one site.
11) Your full name must appear in your profile. No nicknames/screen names or aliases are to be used. You can use initials in the "Goes By" option but your first and last name must be in your profile. If you remove your first and last name, from your profile, and it is brought to our attention you will be notified. If you don't comply you will be deleted from the sites.
12) If we judge a submission inappropriate, we reserve the right to delete that post and all replies to it. Re-posts of previously deleted contributions will be treated the same way. Judgments concerning posts are made at our discretion and our decisions are considered final. |
